Growing Wellness Together: Vibrance Health’s Farm Initiative

Growing fresh food, restoring health, and strengthening our community.

Vibrance Health is expanding our mission of whole-person care through the development of a community farmstead that increases access to fresh, healthy food. Supported by a $650,000 grant from Methodist Healthcare Ministries, this initiative will grow produce, provide nutrition education, and help address food insecurity in our region. The project will be developed from 2025–2027 to support long-term community wellness.

Here’s what’s growing:

A Community Farm: In partnership with Moonbow Farms, we’ll grow over 60,000 pounds of naturally-grown, fresh produce annually to nourish families. We will sell farm fresh mixed produce boxes that come with a beautiful bouquet of cut flowers, too. We’re calling them BLOOM BOXES!
Access for All: Using a sliding scale, we’ll ensure everyone—regardless of income—can access the BLOOM BOXES.
A SNAP-Friendly Farmer’s Market: We will create an on-site market that will double the value of SNAP dollars through the Double Up Food Bucks program, making fruits and vegetables more affordable.
Cooking & Nutrition Classes: A dietitian will lead hands-on classes on how to prepare, cook, and preserve healthy food.
Support for Local Schools: We’re continuing our garden, greenhouse, and hydroponics programs in Van Vleck, Matagorda, and Palacios schools—helping students grow their skills (and veggies!).
Home Deliveries: This convenience made available to BLOOM BOX customers by our pharmacy delivery service.
Sustainable Support: Revenue from cut flowers and full-price produce will help keep the farm thriving.
Growing Opportunities: New jobs, apprenticeships, and volunteer roles will invite more people to be part of the work.
